Sala Prabang is located in a unique location. It is only within walking distance to the old town of Luang Prabang, a UNESCO World Heritage Town and various historical sites, night bazaar and dining places.

The natural beauty of the town features traditional Laotian architecture and European colonial buildings and set beautifully between the Mekong and Nam Khane rivers. Sala Prabang Hotel is a fifteen minute drive from the Luang Prabang International Airport. The airport transfer desk is located at the exit of the airport terminal.

Exquisitely renovated in 2002 by its owner architect, Sinlasone Soumpholphakdy, Sala Prabang is one of the finest examples of Luang Prabang Colonial Architecture. The Villa and the Cottage were the former residence of the first Prime Minister of Laos and later it was named as a protected structure when Luang Prabang was designated as a World Heritage Site in 1995.

There are forty nine rooms, which have been individually designed in the spirit of colonial elegance and feature a subtle blend of traditional and contemporary styles. Rooms offer natural stone and earthy lime washed walls, hardwood flooring dating back to 19th Century, and locally handcrafted furniture.

Since its opening, Sala Prabang has quickly earned itself the reputation as a second home for a variety of visitors from artists to ambassadors, professionals to individual travelers alike who all prefer a ” Private Hotel ” ambiance.

Sala Prabang comprises of forty nine rooms spread out within seven individual two storied buildings. Its interior was restored in the spirit of colonial elegance and fusion of Lao traditional and contemporary styles.  All rooms include air conditioning, ceiling fan and private bathroom with hot and cold showers, selective amenities and accommodate with a double bed and/or attached twin beds.

Villa: A unique World Heritage Lao Colonial Architecture built at the end of the 19th Century by of a noble family as its principle residence.

Ban Lao: A newly built Lao style bungalow with natural stone, rosewood, bamboo and wood shingle roof.

Cottage: Formerly a maid quarter complementing the Villa, this French Cottage was exquisitely renovated into six modern rooms with a rustic ambiance.


Lattana: This World Heritage French Colonial Duplex was faithfully restored to its former glory boasting elegant rooms with colonial furniture and original hardwood floor.

Chalinee: This is a Classic World Heritage Luang Prabang styled Villa looking over the Mekong River.

Issada: World Heritage Lao Residence next to the National Museum (Former Royal Palace).

Vanida: Another World Heritage Lao Residence located right opposite the known Wat Choumkhong and Wat Xiengmoune temples.
